Women Development Cell of the college was established with women’s safety and security as one of its main objectives. In pursuance of this objective, the cell organized a workshop for  girl students and female faculty members in collaboration with Delhi Police on 2nd August, 2018.
The theme of the workshop was Women’s safety. Inspector Tripti form Crime Against Women Cell, Sub-Inspector Amit Bhati, Sub-Inspector Suruchi and other officials from Delhi Police were present to grace this occasion. The program started with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the principal Dr. R.K. Gupta, Dr. Rukmini, the convenor of Women Development Cell, the  guests and the faculty members. The principal then addressed the students and motivated them with his words of wisdom. He inspired them by saying that whatever good we expect from others in the society; we ourselves should take the initiative and become the fountain head of such goodness. In this context he said that before expecting anything from police, we should first try to help ourselves by remaining alert all the time and acting as eyes and ears of Delhi Police.
After this, Inspector Tripti addressed the students and encouraged them to face anti-social
elements with full confidence and aggression. With the help of her staff, she then demonstrated certain useful self-defense techniques. The audience applauded and appreciated the courage and power of the Delhi police staff with which they showcased such techniques. A short film was then shown to the students which highlighted the importance and functions of ‘Himmat Plus’ mobile app launched by Delhi Police which really made the Delhi Police slogan ‘Delhi Police, sadaiv aapke saath’ meaningful. Sub-Inspector Amit Bhati explained the procedure for downloading the app and resolved the queries of students regarding the app.
The students felt confident and secure after learning about the functions of this app and
resolved to share this app with their friends and relatives. The workshop proved to be very
useful for the girls and the faculty members as well. Due to the presence of students in large numbers it really turned out to be a success. The program completed with the formal vote of thanks.
